Community Organizing has been a passion of mine for over a decade. When I first started out I just had a interest then over time it developed into a passion for change in our communities. I have cut my teeth and taken the lead on some very forward projects such as cultural education, community development & a number of social justice issues.
I don't simply favor one issue over the other but, I do try to maintain the same intensity for these issues as the change that needs to be created inside these systems to produce justice. Cultural Education intervenes a buffer to stop self-hate, violence, drugs, dysfunction for ourselves and our communities. In Community Development when development happens & we don't benefit as residents in the community then we are a disadvantage of urban blight in our communities. Social Justice are issues around police brutality, mass incarceration, unfair sentencing, war on drugs, etc. In conclusion, we all have to pick a fight because there is definately a war going on in our communities but, we must dare to fight and struggle to win.
